“Liposuction among men to get rid of "love handles" continues to rise in popularity."

Tattoos were once seen as something rebellious, something wild but have now become accepted as part of everyday society; plastic surgery is heading in the same direction. Maybe the comparison isn’t exactly spot on but there are certain parallels, in both generally you are altering the way you look for cosmetic reasons. No longer do you have to talk in hushed tones that you are getting something done or be ashamed of have some form of alteration if you are unhappy.

I have found talking to people that if they had the money they’d get some form of surgery, however small and they don’t see a problem with it and why should they?  You brush your hair, workout, go to the dentist to look as good as you can and to feel as good as you can, so why not surgery?

People who chastise for others for surgery saying that they are insecure and pathetic need to calm down and understand that maybe those people are insecure and want to change something in their life to give them some confidence. The world we live in isn’t perfect and looks do count and however much we want this to change, it won’t so you may as well adapt as best you can. Which brings me on to my main point, in the cutthroat world of business you need to stay sharp and young to remain in power, which is why more and more men are turning to cosmetic surgery to help them with this. No longer do men just dye their hair to hide the greys but they are getting ‘enhancements’, no ladies not just those kind of enhancements but also Botox, hair transplants, mini-facelifts, liposuction and dermal fillers.

A very rapidly growing market is in men’s  surgery and again this is the natural development of western society
http://www.meditourists.com/male-cosmetic-surgery.html /  As people work longer and longer into their lives with better health, it is no longer acceptable to just give in to aging and go quietly into the night. Old is now the ‘delayed youth’ and looking the part is every bit as important as acting the part.
It’s not just the celebrities such as Simon Cowell who have admitted to Botox but also the high flying businessmen in London and New York who want to stay fresh for the clients and reverse the effects of their stressful lives from showing on their face. ‘Looking old and tired is perceived as a sign of weakness’ says one businessman, ‘so you have to make sure you delay old age as long as possible and if that means surgery, then so be it’. ( Botox for men: http://www.meditourists.com/botox_and_fillers_1.html)

Another point is that it is no longer women who are bombarded with images of the ‘perfect woman’. Men’s Health has become the highest selling men’s magazine; overtaking FHM so clearly men are aware of what is ‘expected’ of them. I’m not commenting on whether or not this focus on looking perfect is right or wrong, but it is what it is. Of course surgery isn’t a substitute for a good diet and exercise but a bit of lipo for the stubborn love handles for men can really do the trick. If it is really important to you to look your best you should use all the tools available to you to achieve your goals.

So men’s plastic surgery is on the up and I believe it will continue its rise in popularity in the coming years as it becomes more and more acceptable and less ‘weird’ for men to get surgery.  Getting surgery isn’t as radical as people think, just ask those people who get tattoos.

Remember:  sagging, wrinkled skin, puffy eyes and drooping jowls are just as unattractive on a man as they are on a woman. Visible signs of aging on the face and neck:

Sagging in the mid face
Deep creases below the lower eyelids
Deep creases between the nose and mouth
Fat that has fallen or is displaced
Loss of muscle tone in the lower face that may create jowls
Loose skin and excess fatty deposits under the chin and jaw
