Ernesto Chong has individually and through his group, PMC Group Panama, spent many years in trying to understand issues that afflict the children of Panama. He believes that though Panama’s economy is doing well and there has been great development throughout the country, many families still remain in states of great poverty. Sadly, it is the children who are most affected by this poverty as they do not receive proper nutrition, medical attention and no proper education.
By supporting Panama United Foundation, Ernesto Chong hopes to make a real difference in the lives of these children. He is aware that there are many major corporations, private enterprises, entrepreneurs, business colleagues and other individuals in Panama who all have similar concerns about the children of Panama and the future of the country. Ernesto Chong Coronado is sure that Panama United Foundation will allow all those concerned, to pool in their efforts and resources in order to support the children of Panama.
Panama United Foundation certainly aims to provide children of extremely poor families with a nutritious diet, education and timely health care. It knows that parental involvement is very important in securing the health of a child from a very early age. The foundation is therefore trying to educate parents about the importance of prenatal care, giving their children timely vaccinations and ensuring that they get a nutritious diet in their early years.
However, the Panama United Foundation is also working towards a much larger goal – of trying to make the children self-independent and plan a better future for themselves. The foundation aims to set up centers, especially in far-flung areas where children lack many facilities, to enable them to learn many other skills like using the computer and Internet, learn new languages, and also learn and play new sports. It is striving to ensure that even underprivileged children are given a chance to become self-reliant through this holistic approach. Ernesto Chong and his company, PMC Group Panama is working hard to list enough sponsors and volunteers to work at the centers, for Panama United Foundation to make this a reality. In fact, his efforts have ensured that Panama United Foundation can successfully provide unbiased sponsorships to many deserving students.
