EMG Launches City College of San Francisco’s New Website

EMG recently launched client City College of San Francisco's brand new website at www.ccsf.edu. The new site was completely redesigned and implemented with Day's content management software (CMS) platform.
 
Feb. 5, 2010 - PRLog -- IRVINE, CA – Earthbound Media Group (EMG) is thrilled to announce the launch of the City College of San Francisco’s (CCSF) new enterprise-content-managed web presence at www.ccsf.edu. The culmination of a year and a half of intense user and audience research, design and development, including the building and integration of its entire website on Day Communiqué’s CQ5 content management software (CMS) platform, has paved way for CCSF to establish an online identity while extending its reach to target audiences exponentially.

“Key to this project’s success was engaging not only front-end users but also administrative authors and back-end users throughout the design and development process,” said EMG Director of Communications and Brand Experience Amanda Vande Brake. “Because we worked so closely with so many different stakeholders and CCSF representatives, EMG was able to produce a content managed website that is a clear illustration of City College of San Francisco’s diversity and addresses their organization-specific website and content management needs.”

The comprehensive website redevelopment process began with extensive user, market and competitor research, which included interviews and focus groups with more than 100 CCSF students, faculty, staff and other stakeholders. These findings alongside survey results and multidisciplinary audits of the CCSF website and web-related operations informed the project’s extensive design and technical requirements and specifications.

EMG restructured CCSF’s massive website comprised of over 5,000 pages upon finalizing the system and site requirements. Every single page residing within its old web presence was organized in a more streamlined and intuitive page structure. Fixed with user-centered web design and navigation, the resulting website’s functionality was built with CCSF’s specific needs and budgets in mind. Custom components and templates for CCSF’s seven main departments and eleven campuses were built to ensure that each respective entity would be able to easily create a unique look under an overall CCSF brand.

In the end, EMG was able to resolve CCSF’s business challenges. Built within a dynamic CMS environment, the newly implemented website enables back-end web administrators and content authors to find content quickly and update it with ease. Ultimately, this end-to-end website reinvention supports CCSF in achieving its visionary objectives to help students achieve their lifetime educational and career goals and uphold high educational standards that provide students with added value and a competitive edge.
