The Summer Mountain Lahinch (£24), with functional sun protective fabric, is a classic shape, which derives its name from the famous Irish country club. This styling is coming through in the Michael Herz SS10 collection for Aquascutum, which focuses on a British Military feel pairing style separates with soft feminine dresses.
Kangol’s Straw Lola
The Straw Lola (£45) is a lightweight fun holiday choice that allows you to take shade from the midday glare beneath the mid length rim. The Caroline Charles SS10 show replicated the holiday feel with Tequilla sunset patterns and playful straw hats
Kangol’s Ventair Space Cap
Baseball caps make a style revival in Kangol’s SS10 collection. The Ventair Space Cap (£18) withholds the classic baseball cap shape but is given a new twist with Kangol’s tropic yarn material. Mirrored on the catwalk the SS10 Loewe collection teamed similar headwear with pastel shades and simple styling.
Kangol’s Twill Ripley
The relaxed crown and slight lip on the peak gives the Twill Ripley (£45) its modern baker boy shape. This is just one of many denim styles in the Kangol SS10 collection, as also seen in Ralph Lauren’s Summer show.
Kangol’s Mountain Portsmouth Cap
The Summer Mountain Portsmouth (£21) is a five-panel cap with a sports luxe feel. The Taslon fabric is treated to make it UV-A and UV-B sun protected. Sports luxe was also a strong theme at the SS10 catwalks where Gaultier incorporated similar style caps into his triumphant return to the catwalk.
