From the word go, using the program is instinctive, and creating a first plan is accessible to everyone. The getting-started manual is downloadable for free should it be needed.
Without going into the technical aspects of a project manager's job, it is worth noting that in Express Premium, planning and scheduling are two distinct phases. In the first phase, projects and resources are defined and calendars and requirements are applied to them (many other features are available at this stage). It is already possible to obtain a gantt chart based on your data and, what’s more, the chart is generated automatically. Express Premium is the only program of its kind to allow this.
In the second phase, scheduling, you simply press a button called "Run scheduling" and the application automatically generates an optimized plan based on all the input resource and project requirements (calendars, start-date, end-dates, milestones, goals...). Of course, it also generates scheduling reports, which allows you to analyze the scheduling results and/or distribute individual schedules to staff so that they know exactly what they have to do and when.
