It has been a real problem until now, but research has found a solution – a formulated and unique pre-services treatment created for all chemical and salon conditioning services.  More than just a clarifying rinse, it is an easy to use, no-mix, professional-use-only treatment that helps remove polymer and mineral deposits before chemical services.

Human hair fiber is composed of porous, protein material.  As such, it is continually exposed to polymers, conditioning treatment residues and mineral ions which “stick to” the hair.  These substances may not be entirely removed with regular shampooing and can interfere with salon services.

Mineral ions of copper, iron and calcium may be found in ordinary tap water.  They hae a strong natural affinity for hair keratin and can easily contaminate hair.  The visible result is hair that appears dull, uneven and sometimes discolored.  This may cause interference with the chemical action of a permanent wave or color service and result in uneven curl formation/color disposition and/or poor absorption of reconditioning treatments.

The removal process is called “chelation.”  Five powerful chelating agents surround, bind to and de-activate metallic ions which would potentially interfere with perming, coloring or reconditioning.

It must be applied before a reconditioning service.  It helps prepare the hair shaft for absorption of treatments when it is applied with a gentle massage through damp hair and processed for several minutes.  After rinsing and toweling dry, the operator may proceed with the treatment.

   INDICATIONS FOR USE
•   Overexposure to chlorine and copper sulfate used primarily in swimming pools and spa water.  Copper bonds with chlorine to form copper chloride, the yellow-green salt that creates what is known as “swimmer’s hair.”
•   Iron found in tap water.  The iron binds to hair proteins and the perm solution reacts with the iron to form a “purple complex” (evidenced by purple areas on hair and towels) that interfere with proper curl formation.  Odors and dark stains in the hair may also result.
•   Styling polymers and conditioning ingredients.  They can cause the hair surface to become dull and uneven, a condition  which can contribute to improper  curl formation, frizzy ends after perming and spotty or uneven disposition.
•   This magic solution’s name is PRE ART, but remember that it has been composed for professional use only.  I have had the best results using it in my salon, and let me tell you, my clients/friends are going crazy for it!
