A fresh campaign has been launched with a view to attract more visitors to Cumbria and boost visitors’ spending in the region.
As a matter of fact, many cities in the United Kingdom including London have offered pre-paid discount passes to their top attractions. This method is being followed by the tourism authority of Cumbria as well, with their launching the issuance of the Freedom of the Lake District passes.
The Freedom of the Lake District pass concept developed by Tyg, the popular business firm in Cumbria, will be promoted via the media of the United Kingdom, besides featuring on a dedicated website for the cause, Freedom of the Lake District.
The authority has invited all those retailers, restaurants, accommodation providers and other business firms that thrive on tourism to take active part in the campaign.
According to the director of Tyg, Peter Frost-Pennington, this involvement of theirs in the Cumbrian tourism development campaign would provide the vital boost to their business, as it encouraged more tourists to visit the Lake District.
Meanwhile, the Cumbria Tourism chair, Eric Robson claimed that it was an excitingly fresh initiative that would enable the Cumbrian businesses to benefit from a robust marketing tool, which previously has only been availed in cities such as York and London.
