Feb. 4, 2010 - PRLog -- The ongoing restructuring and downsizing of the U.S. chemical industry has reduced the number of sources of important industrial raw materials.  Many industrial chemicals that were previously available in the U.S. from multiple domestic sources are now only available from a limited number of foreign sources.  This is the case with the additive known as Hydroquinone Monomethyl Ether (HQMME)*, a reaction inhibitor and anti-oxidizer used in a variety of important industrial applications.  In 2009 all U.S. manufacturers of this material suspended domestic production, which is causing availability and cost issues to the users of this product.  In addition, quality problems may result when changing to a supplier that may not have the right purity grade for high performance applications.
Celeritas Chemicals of Southlake, TX is a company that specializes in providing assistance to companies affected by these changes, by providing them with alternative sources of raw materials and helping companies realize significant cost savings or solve quality problems.  Celeritas Chemicals has entered into a supply agreement with one of the world’s largest manufacturers of HQMME, and will have this product available domestically in warehouses throughout the U.S.  The first site selected for storing the product is Dallas, TX, which provides outstanding access to all of the U.S.
Celeritas Chemicals’ HQMME has a target purity greater than 99.5%, which is higher than most of the equivalent products available in the U.S. market.  In addition, this grade of HQMME contains a lower level of color impurities compared to products from alternate suppliers (see Figure 1).  The color characteristics of this material offer a significant benefit to high performance applications such as clear coatings, where transparency in the final product is critical.  As an additional benefit, production and supply chain efficiencies allow Celeritas Chemicals to offer this product in the U.S. at significant cost savings.
If your company needs a lower cost or higher quality supply option for HQMME, please contact Celeritas Chemicals at number (817) 421-3271 or in the web at www.celeritaschemicals.com
