Hogan Working with GAWP to Build Out Their New LEED Silver Headquarters
ATLANTA, GA — Hogan Construction Group was chosen from a small group of select contractors to build the new Georgia Association of Water Professionals (GAWP) headquarters in Marietta, Georgia. A former call center, the new headquarters building will provide 12,466 square feet of office and continuing education training space. Hogan is providing construction management services for the interior renovation and build-out project, which incorporates a variety of sustainable features. Construction is scheduled to last three months.
A not-for-profit organization that provides education and training for professionals in the water/wastewater industry, the Georgia Association of Water Professionals was founded in 1932 as an authority for anyone concerned with Georgia’s water resources. Eager to move from its leased facility nearby, the GAWP contracted with Hogan to completely gut and rebuild the aging facility and provide a new roof, mechanical and plumbing systems, high-end fixtures and an efficient space for the organization’
The renovation project is on track to earn a LEED Silver Certification from the USGBC. With an aggressive waste management plan and an indoor air quality plan that ensures maximum comfort for the GAWP staff and visitors, the new facility will be environmentally sustainable and a testament to the owner’s commitment to the preservation of natural resources. Construction will incorporate materials procured regionally, including low-flow water fixtures throughout the one-story building.
The renovation project commences in early February and will be completed in time for the organization’
