Norfolk, VA – More than 25 of Hampton Roads best restaurants will be cooking up a great time at the Annual Taste of Hampton Roads on Tuesday March 2, at the Norfolk Waterside Marriott Hotel. There will also be live music from the band, Hotcakes, and an exciting theme of Cirque du Soleil.
The Taste of Hampton Roads is “the highest energy fundraiser in Hampton Roads,” according to Steve Marsey, food critic and past event eatery judge. “You can bank of having a great time while helping out the local Foodbank at the same time.”
Last year, the event raised enough money to allow the Foodbank of Southeastern Virginia to distribute more than 365,000 complete and nutritious meals for the hungry children, working families and elderly throughout Southeastern Virginia. This year, the Foodbank hopes to raise enough money to help more than 325 agencies including church food pantries and Kids’ Cafes to give 1 million meals to those in need. Each ticket sold for Taste ‘10 will provide 220 complete, nutritious meals for Hampton Roads’ hungry.
Tickets for the event are $75 and are available by visiting the Web site, www.tasteofhamptonroads.com. Sponsors for the event include: Presenting sponsor, Farm Fresh Food and Pharmacy; Facility sponsor, Norfolk Waterside Marriott Hotel; Morrison Healthcare Food Services; Ringer R/G; Sumitomo Drive Technologies;
“Payday Payroll has sponsored for 8 years and will continue to sponsor Foodbank's ‘Taste’ event because it a great food tasting experience for those who attend the party, a selfless way for restaurateurs to help our community and greet new diners, and has the incredible, immediate impact of getting food to those seniors, children and working families right here in our backyard who are doing without,” said Payday Payroll, Inc. President Andrew C. Kline.
As of January 31, the restaurants who will be serving up their best dishes include: Bardo Edibles and Elizirs; Captain Georges Seafood Restaurant; Culinary Institute of Virginia; Freemason Abbey; Fresh Events by Farm Fresh; Guadalajara;
