Catahoula Cajun Band s a New York-based group that plays Cajun dance music of South Louisiana, with some Country songs thrown in for good measure. Whie all the band members hail from north of the Mason-Dixon line, their love of toe tappin' dance and folk music inspired them to tackle the two-steps, waltzes, and French lyrics of Acadian Louisiana. The name of the band is taken from the Catahoula Hog Dog, native to Louisiana. Catahoulas are known for their high energy and good effect on children. We like to think our music shares those traits...with Julie Winterbottom on accordion, Maggie Hoffee on vocals and guitar, Riccardo Heald on fiddle, David Wander on vocals and electric guitar, Frank Luschinsky on bass, and guest Deborah Monlux on fiddle.
