Pan Jive Steel Drum Band at Olde Hickory Tap Room
The Pan Jive Steel Drum Band will join fans new and old at the Olde Hickory Tap Room to celebrate the release of "Party in Our Pans" on Monday, February 8th from 7-10pm. The Tap Room, located at 222 Union Square, Hickory, NC has hosted Pan Jive several times in the past, to rave reviews. The band will be playing throughout the event, and the cd, with 13 tracks, will be available for purchase. Their high energy music is infectious and the perfect cure to the Monday night, cold winter blues.
Pan Jive, a musical group based in Hickory, North Carolina, has been surprising and delighting listeners with a charismatic style and sound since 2000. The group, made up of 6 members, plays traditional steel drums from Trinidad. And while they can and do play traditional Calyspo music, they also add a unique island sound to unexpected genres, including rock, Motown and much, much more. A non-profit group, they participate in numerous events throughout the year, and place a high emphasis on education and performing for schools and other educational settings.
