Hampton Roads, VA – Customer Magnetism, a Virginia Beach search engine optimization (SEO) company, announced today a second donation to the New Hope Haiti Mission (NHHM) based on a percentage of sales during the Month of January.
The mission, founded in 2000, is located in Balan, Haiti. It serves as an orphanage and provides community outreach and relief to the village located in the northern part of the country.
“Following the mass destruction and continuing struggles of the people of Haiti, we wanted to make a donation to a trustworthy organization that we knew could help them,” said Kurt Noer, CEO and founder of Customer Magnetism. “We have seen the personal commitment of members of the mission and know we can truly make a difference.”
Scott Salvant, a former Customer Magnetism employee, is president of New Hope Haiti Mission’s board. He and his father, Mickey, have been in Haiti, assisting with relief efforts. The village had no fresh water or electricity, limited agriculture and no employment before the first of two earthquakes struck about three weeks ago.
“Although the mission suffered some outer property damage, the workers continue to help villagers and reach out to other orphanages in the area with supplies and manpower,” said Noer. “We want to help them succeed and would encourage others who want their money to go directly to Haiti relief efforts to donate to them as well.”
The search engine positioning company made an initial donation a few days after the first earthquake, but felt a second donation would be beneficial to the non-profit mission.
The Virginia Beach-based Internet marketing firm has been following the daily progress of the Salvants with Scott’s updates through @newhopehaiti on Twitter.com. Mickey returned to the U.S. last week and is supporting fellow relief workers from stateside.
