The Ford Motor Company has reported a full year net income of $2.7 billion with a fourth quarter net income of $868 million for 2009.  The 2009 full year net income comes as $17.5 million improvement over Toyota’s earnings last year.
Kevin Powell commented, “Thanks to Ford Motor Co. for being the great company they are.  Ford Motor Co. took no bailout money and produced great new products, also thank you, Surry County and the surrounding areas for a record breaking January.”
Favorable net pricing, structural cost reductions, net gains on debt reduction actions and strong Ford Credit results have been credited by Ford for the profitable year.
Kevin Powell has stated that he is proud to be a part of such a strong comeback for the automotive industry.  He also stated “Ford has been a lasting and reliable company just like their cars and trucks”.
Ford has stated that they are optimistic about 2010, declaring that they plan to develop new models and products, while also working to adapt to environmental challenges of the business sphere.
