Time can be both real and conceptual as perceived by humans. Is time real? What is time? Did we invent time? This exhibit lends the artist’s interpretation of the realness or lack thereof to this notion. Time features Time is Money, Lost Time, Dead Time, Tea Time, End of Time, Killing Time and some of his personal favorites from his body of work: 40 pieces total ranging from $150 to $3,000. On Saturday, February 13 at 7:00 p.m., curators Nate Purcell and Ian Kerr present Kurt B’s Time at Easy Street Gallery (155 Grand Street, Willamsburg, Brooklyn, NY).
“Kurt B’s work is rich in content. He is a technically skilled glass blower and always conveys a message, which not every artist can do,” reflects Nate Purcell. Kurt B is self-taught and has studied glass blowing purely through trial and error in his garage since 2000. He, now, rents a 500-square foot space with another artist in an old industrial building that formerly served as the bottling room for Magic Hat Brewing Company in Burlington, VT. His work evokes realism with a modern pop art angle, using colored glass to convey a more contemporary art deco style. He is also known for his limited editions and conceptual art.
