5280 Sports to Cover Upcoming Colorado Thunderbirds’ U18 AAA Tier I Hockey Showcase

DENVER, CO – 5280 Sports, a media site dedicated to Denver sports, is proud to announce a new partnership with the Colorado Thunderbirds’ AAA Hockey program.   As part of its arrangement, 5280 Sports will provide live play-by-play coverage of select games as the Thunderbirds host the U18 AAA Hockey Detroit Showcase, February 4-6 at Big Bear Ice Arena in Denver, Colorado.  The showcase, will feature elite teams including Little Caesar’s, Belle Tire, Compuware, Victory Honda, Honeybaked, as well as top rated teams from the West.  Game audio will be broadcasted live over the internet on the company’s website at http://www.5280sports.net and will also be available as downloadable podcasts following the event.
According to Director of Hockey Operations for the Colorado Thunderbirds, Angelo Ricci, the showcase provides the local community with a chance to cheer on their home team as they face other top programs in the nation.  “Colorado fans are in for a real treat as the Michigan teams come to Denver for the first time,” claims Ricci.  “This is one opportunity that hockey fans of all levels won’t want to miss.”
The games will be called by veteran play-by-play announcer Bill Rogan, former voice of Army Hockey, while Denver radio talent, Nick Vella, will provide color commentary.  “Many local fans don’t realize that the Colorado Thunderbirds are considered to be one of the top programs in the nation,” claims Rogan.  “We are extremely excited to take part in this showcase as their new media partner.”
