Stamford, CT – Benedict F. Kiernan, Director of the Genocide Studies Program at the Yale Center for International and Area Studies, will speak on Preventing Genocide at the Great Decisions free program at the Greenwich Library on February 22 at 7 P.M.
Professor Kiernan is a renowned expert on the history of Asia and the global history of genocide. His many publications include The Pol Pot Regime: Race, Power and Genocide under the Khmer Rouge, 1975-1979 (1996), the award winning collection, Conflict and Change in Cambodia (2002), and Blood and Soil: Genocide and Extermination in World History from Sparta to Darfur (2007). He was the founding Director of the Cambodia Genocide Project and Convener of the Yale East Timor Project.
