Feb. 1, 2010 - PRLog -- Has your marriage joined Team Putt Putt? Once You’re In It, Good Luck Getting Out!

Berry Pond Productions, in association with Verité Films is proud to announce the Worldwide Movie Screening for Allen Cognata's The Putt Putt Syndrome on February 6, 2010 at the Winthrop Performing Arts Center. The cast and crew will be gathering together once again since the film wrapped this past Summer in Winthrop, Maine -the small town with big character. This is the place to be on Saturday, February 6, 2010 as Hollywood producers and actors will be flying in to attend this exciting event!
The cast includes Jason London, David Chokachi, Thea Gill, Heather Tom, Robert Maschio and Paul Diomede - most of which will be attending the Movie Screening in Maine.

Tired of hearing his bitter friend's hypothesis on why marriages fail and wives cheat, happily married Johnny (played by Jason London) decides to check his buddy Tony's (played by David Chokachi) theories, and realizes he's got all the symptoms of the Putt Putt Syndrome. Suddenly, Johnny's perception of suburban marital bliss comes tumbling down as he finds himself trying to save his marriage in the midst of a midlife crisis.

Filmed in Cognata's hometown of Winthrop, Maine, locals gathered and supported their efforts by offering their homes, businesses and volunteer services to make this dream a reality for Cognata and the cast! London's character is a salesman at Dave's Appliance on Central Street in Winthrop. The crew also filmed scenes at Peppers Garden & Grill on Main Street.

"It was so exciting to shoot this in my hometown. We were going to shoot it in Massachusetts for the 25% tax incentive but we received more than that back from the community with their generosity and hospitality." Cognata said.

"In retrospect, we were up against some formidable odds. It rained 15 out of 18 shooting days, the average age of our PA's was 15, four of my children made their acting deputes with little or no acting experience, and it was my directorial debut. Not to mention our budget of $200,000! I couldn't be more pleased with the team my producer's Donald Roman Lopez and Rene Veilleux put together and the quality of the finished product we have to show." Cognata added.
While many independent projects wallow through the post-production process, or are often never completed, The Putt Putt Syndrome’s post-production team quickly ushered the film through its final stages to completion less than 7 months after wrapping of principal photography!  The film is being submitted to festivals and Team Putt Putt is now working on the distribution plan.

Following the premiere in Winthrop, Maine will be a second showing on Friday, February 12, 2010 at none other than Robert De Niro's Tribeca Theatre in New York City and then on to Los Angeles in March.
