Mothers Day Chocolate Heart
Home for The Simply Delicious Fruit Cake Company is amongst the gentle rolling hills of south Shropshire just a few miles from Ludlow. All the cakes are hand made to our own traditional recipes then baked in small batches so that production can be personally supervised by Milly. Where possible we source ingredients locally – free range eggs from the farm over the hill behind us. We now bake twelve different flavours of fruitcakes in various shapes and sizes. And to make it a bakers dozen we are adding a special Mother's Day cake.
For Mother's Day in 2010 The Simply Delicious Fruit Cake Co are unveiling a chocolate heart shaped fruitcake. A cake that will go down as the best surprise ever! The cake is brimming with vine fruits and almonds all blended with a rich chocolate powder that gives a big chocolate taste. To cap it all the top of the cake is finished with drizzled chocolate and pretty sugar flowers.
And it doesn't stop there because presentation is a big thing for us too. Our cake packaging is contemporary in design and we strive for the highest standard whether the cake is eaten at home or given away as a present. All our cakes, including Mother's day Cakes, are sent out in the post in a gorgeous red lined purple gift box with an embossed silver logo on the lid.
And who works all the magic....the cakes are made with a lot of fun and laughter by our wonderful staff all drawn from the local rural farming community. The girls have their own work station at which they mix, bake and decorate their own batches. This gives them ownership of their cakes and a pride in what they make. Above all this is a family business. Apart from the husband and wife team, you will find beavering away mothers and daughters, father and son’s, sisters, Uncle Tom Cobley and all.
