Last November, Swearingen Software, Inc. of Houston, TX announced that they were holding a contest to give away one free Radiology Information System to a “hardship”
Chuck Chambers, the Administrator from College Park Family Care Center in Overland Park, KS completed the contest form and explained why they consider themselves a hardship case. “College Park Family Care Center fell on hard times in 2009 ... Despite this severe financial setback, we have honored a commitment to fund a start-up not-for-profit clinic in the poorest neighborhood in Kansas City, MO. The Hope Family Care Center opened in October 2009, thanks almost entirely to a financial commitment and hours and hours of volunteer work from the physicians and staff of College Park Family Care Center. Had we not funded this not-for-profit clinic, we could have used the money to purchase a RIS system, which we need for our ever-growing radiology department. We chose to divert our funds instead to provide for those who have greater needs.”
