Local Church Fires Up the Griddle In a Fundraising Breakfast for Burnt Firehouse
Windham, NY – February 6, 2010. Hope Restoration Church is no stranger to hosting fundraising events for mountain top organizations and local schools. When the news hit of a fire that devastated their neighbors at the Ashland Fire Department and Town Hall, Hope Restoration immediately began the process of how they can help. Hope Restoration Church offers aid and reaches out to the community through the Windham Community Food Pantry and through fundraising dinners. Many organizations and civil groups have benefited by their generosity.
On January 11, 2010, the Ashland Firehouse and Town Hall was destroyed and its equipment heavily damaged. “We were shocked to hear the news that Sunday morning. Our fire departments are all manned by volunteers here. These men and women stop whatever they are doing when the distress call sounds. They are dedicated people” said Pastor Clif Cool of Hope Restoration. “We want to do what we can so our neighbors can rebuild what was lost”.
Hope Restoration Church hosts a commercial kitchen that has fed up to 340 people during annual Harvest Dinners. With several professional chefs in the congregation and the help of an army of volunteers from the area, Hope Restoration Church will be having their first breakfast fundraiser. This event will be different than those of the past, since it’s a morning event.
The menu has been created and will feature Stuffed French Toast, Vegetable Frittata, Scrambled Eggs, Bacon, Sausage, Home Fries, Fresh Fruit, Bagels, Muffins, Coffee, Tea and Juices.
Hope Restoration Church is located at #117 State Route 296, Windham, NY 12496 0.1mile north of Martin Lane. They will be serving from 8:00am to 12:00pm. All proceeds of this event will benefit the Ashland Volunteer Fire Department. Adults $9.00, Children $6.00, under 5 years old is free. No advance ticket purchases or reservations are necessary.
