When Greg and Margaret Fisher returned to the U.S. after 16 years of working in Africa they were unsettled about the future. The couple had served in full-time Christian ministry for more than 40 years. With their return to the US, reentry into the church life of the US Church seemed a bit difficult. After hearing a presentation about using internet technology as a vehicle for the delivery of audio scriptures, the Fishers were challenged. At that same time, Greg discovered a unique website called BlogTalkRadio. "I was taken with the potential," says Fisher. The Fishers now host a weekly talk radio program on BlogTalkRadio called "Second Half Christians."
"I had been involved in Christian radio back in the 1970's and I wondered if any of those skills could be resurrected."
The Second Half Christians talk radio show is about regaining purpose and destiny in life. With the Baby Boomer generation reaching retirement age the Fishers want to deliver a challenge to them. "Get up off the couch and do something significant with the second half of your life." says Margaret. According to the Fishers many Baby Boomers began life with a strong commitment to Christianity. But, many of them became caught up with achieving success in life, family pressures, and failures and slipped away from their Christian commitment. "We want to tell Baby Boomers that they can recapture their divine destiny in life." says Greg Fisher.
The radio show airs every Sunday evening at 6:00 PM (Mountain Standard Time) at www.blogtalkradio.com/
