Washington, DC--Heroes of the Nation, Kenya's largest orphanage of over 530 children, has a unique solution for enabling orphans to become future leaders of their country. Heroes of the Nation (HTN) differentiates itself by focusing on four distinct areas of orphanage campus development.

So innovative and successful is this orphanage model, developed by HTN founder  and president Andrew Sievright, that Heroes of the Nation has caught the attention of local and national officials. Recently the Vice President of Kenya Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka asked Heroes of the Nation to help in the founding of a new orphanage in Kenya’s Eastern Province.

Vice President Musyoka said, “I am partnering with this wonderful organization whose innovative approach and success are known throughout Kenya.”

Andrew Sievright says Heroes of the Nation’s success is founded on his belief that the power of identity, education, self-sufficiency and a social justice lifestyle brings joy and lasting transformations to orphans and their communities.

Heroes of the Nation orphanages, administration and staff members focus on four distinct areas in orphanage campus development: identity, education, self-sufficiency, and social justice.

Self-Identity
Orphans rescued by HTN are embraced in a loving and nurturing community.
Children are taught that they are unique and destined for greatness. Trauma counseling is utilized to reinforce a positive self-image. All children learn that there is no limit to what they can achieve.

Education and Leadership Training
HTN focuses on empowering orphans to be future leaders. Each child receives an excellent education that prepares them to excel in school, advance to a university, and go on to become leaders in their community. To equip children with skills for life, HTN provides them with training in community service, personal finances, and entrepreneurship.

Self-sufficiency
HTN focuses on the economic development and transformation of entire communities.  The orphanage establishes local businesses that provide revenue streams for the orphanage, vocational training for the children and jobs for the community. This groundbreaking entrepreneurial model allows HTN campuses to become financially self-sufficient.

Social Justice
Children at HTN are taught to view themselves as part of the solution that will bring transformation in the lives of the destitute and oppressed they encounter. Throughout their education and training, children learn the joy that comes from a life of contributions to their families, neighbors, communities, and to social justice.
