Rani Mukerji has huge age concerns! The stunning lass, who was on cloud nine after being signed by acclaimed filmmaker Deepa Mehta for the adaptation of Salman Rushdie’s ‘Midnight’
So even as the somber belle played mum to two kids in Yash Raj’s ‘Ta Ra Rum Pum’, she has declined something similar for Mehta’s project.
Confirming the news, a source said, “She asked Mehta that how can she play the mother of a 14-year old when she herself is just 30? She preferred to leave the film instead.”
Well, that’s a valid point for sure. Talking about Rani’s inhibitions to play mum, Deepa said, “Rani was required to play a mother in a section of the film, but there is no kid in the film who is 14-year-old”
As to what triggered Rani off, Deepa said, “Rani had some personal reasons for not doing the film. I cannot disclose the reasons because there are some things, which are confidential between a director and an actor. I have great regard for Rani and total respect for why she is not working with me in this film.”
