The G-9200s altimeter can take measurements working together with the stopwatch, measuring recorded time together with altitude and differences in altitude and recording into memory such factors as elapsed time, total ascent and descent altitude, and highest and lowest altitude. Capable of measuring altitude at five-second intervals, the watch is able to handle altitude changes over very short intervals of time. This function is very useful in sports that features pronounced changes in altitude, such as rock climbing, mountain biking, and back country skiing.
