Jan. 29, 2010 - PRLog -- The premise behind creating IndieMart was to give musicians, artists, authors and craftsmen a free store online to sell their handmade items, original songs, videos, ebooks, or products of any kind. The website’s homepage is setup like a typical virtual mall with a display of different products from store owners.

To open up a store all you need is a Paypal account and a product to sell. Merchants get to pick their own URL to sell their goods.  The IndieMart website has background themes to choose from or the merchant can customize their page. Each individual IndieMart website is fully customizable with or without coding knowledge. The IndieMart website allows a merchant  to upload heir logo, change color back grounds, change font colors and have the ability to attach their Facebook, Twitter, Myspace or Youtube account to their store.

There are no fees for starting an online store or buy an item on the Indiemart website. IndieMart does charge transaction fees for actually making a sale or the transaction fees can be waived for selling goods if the merchant signs up for a monthly plan. When a merchant makes a sale, the money is received in their Paypal account and fees are remitted to IndieMart at the end of the month. When selling downloadable files on IndieMart the customers buy and merchants sell through the IndieMart payment gateway and then IndieMart will remit the money to the merchant after a certain balance is surpassed and they request it.
