LEDs, or light-emitting diodes, are one of the newest, hottest trends in the lighting industry. Although LEDs have been around for some time, this type of lighting has overcome significant challenges recently to be one of the most economical lighting sources available today.
LED light fixtures are available in many applications for the home, office and outdoor lighting needs. LED Christmas lights are the newest craze as they look great, cost very little to power and last a lot longer than traditional Christmas lights.

“Not to say an LED will not burn out,” Susan says, “but its life is approximately 50,000 hours, making this almost a non-issue.”
The significant energy savings afforded by LEDs are also a great feature.
“Similar to fluorescent light bulbs, LEDs are huge energy savers, saving an average of 90% in energy-cost savings.”
Susan goes on to say that where fluorescent bulbs fail, LEDs pick up the slack.
“The application of LED in the cold of the upper mid-west is great, as there are less concerns regarding this light application than others in today’s market place. Regarding the environment, there is no mercury in this type of bulb, so less carbon footprint.”
