Jan. 29, 2010 - PRLog -- The West Covina Symphony Orchestra presents the second major concert of its 2009/2010 season. The free concert, “The Romantics”, is part of it’s “Music of the Masters” full-orchestra series. The program will be performed on Sunday February 7, 2010 at 4pm at the West Covina United Methodist Church, 718 S. Azusa Ave, West Covina, CA 91791. General admission is free, and a limited number VIP tickets are available for $20. Full information is available on the symphony’s website, http://www.westcovinasymphony.com. Concertgoers are encouraged to email or telephone the symphony to make reservations for this event, as a “full-house” is expected.

The orchestra is featuring Dr. Richard Kravchak performing Mozart’s Oboe Concerto in C major, K.314. Oboist Richard Kravchak has been heard as a soloist, chamber and orchestral musician throughout Europe, Asia, and the Americas, in both jazz and classical idioms, performing on all of the major woodwind instruments. The Dubuque Telegraph Herald has written, “Kravchak's playing revealed a real beauty of tone, not monolithic, but always changing in color and intensity. He makes even the most difficult lines seem almost effortless.” Also on the program is Schubert’s lively and romantic “Overture to Rosamunde”, and Schumann’s powerful Symphony No.4.
