"Stock Shock" is a documentary that focuses on Sirius XM stock as an example of an equity under siege by hedge funds. After the satellite radio's long awaited merger, Sirius XM stock seemed poised to go through the roof. Then something went horribly wrong. Investors saw their stock drop from $9 dollars a share to .05 cents a share in 2009. Was it bad management, a poor economy...or greedy stock market sharks preying on the American investor? The experts weigh in.
"Stock Shock" uses stock footage, and interviews to expose some of the allegedly egregious schemes behind the glitter of Wall Street. The film gives the viewer an quick and dirty education in stock market manipulation and the concepts of flash trading and naked short selling. Obama, Bernanke and Jim Cramer all make appearances in the film.
