I know what your probably thinking... DUH!?!??! Of course Disney World is a vacation! However, consider me for a moment if you will...

Dictionary.com defines vacation as "a period of suspension of work, study, or other activity, usually used for rest, recreation, or travel". I look at a vacation as a time away from my normal life and when I come back, I should feel relaxed and ready to move on. The keyword there is "RELAXED!"

I have known many many many people who have been to Disney World, absolutely loved it, but they just felt so darn tired when they got back! People... going to Disney World is a vacation and should not be tiring.

In order to ensure that Disney World IS a vacation, be sure to stress the following points:

   * Plan to stay as many days as possible. If you try to squeeze all 4 theme parks in 2 days, you will find yourself VERY tired and stressed! That combined with the scorching Florida heat and millions of kids running around everywhere (especially at Magic Kingdom) is not a pleasant feeling at all.

   * Stay on property. You will find that your vacation is a lot less stressful when you stay on property. You don't have to worry about transportation or parking. Also, there are lots of other benefits like the "key to the world card" and the "dining plan" which allow you to worry less and have more fun.

   * Take time for other recreation. Disney World has LOTS AND LOTS of things to do. If you are staying on property, go to the Spa or rent a boat.

   * Take advantage of extended hours. Here you can go to the park early, come back to the resort and relax, then go to the park again later on during the day.

   * Plan your days. Know which park you are going to go to and what you are going to do there.

Well, follow those points and next time you go to Disney World and come back home, you might actually feel relaxed! =)
