High school seniors interested in graphic design can compete for their chance at earning a tuition scholarship.
By: Marx Layne & Company Students interested in pursing a creative education must submit their poster design using the design theme, “Life is better with art in it,” no later than February 5, 2010. For all entry details and guidelines, visit www.artinstitute.edu/ “We’re pleased to provide high school seniors with an opportunity to earn a scholarship to further their education,” said Ted Blashak, president of The Art Institute of Michigan. “We encourage high school seniors who hope to study graphic design to submit their best work into this year’s Poster Design Competition.” The contest, which is held in partnership with the nonprofit organization Americans for the Arts, awards the local first and second place winners at each participating Art Institute school with a tuition scholarship. The first place winner will receive a $3,000 scholarship and the second place winner will receive a $2,000 scholarship. These awards can be used at The Art Institute school they represent in the competition and plan to attend following high school graduation. “Art can make such a difference in a person’s life. Art inspires us; it opens new horizons and sharpens and challenges our thinking. It is wonderful to see these talented students taking the next step to pursue a career they love in the arts and being rewarded for it,” said Robert L. Lynch, president and CEO of American for the Arts.
