A unique, upscale, executive-type drug rehab & substance abuse treatment program named Arche Wellness, located in Allison Park, Pennsylvania – just outside of Pittsburgh – has taken a firm stance in declaring the process of addiction treatment is as much a physical approach as it is a mental one. The initial concept of Arche Wellness, named after the Greek word describing the purest or highest form, was first conceived in 1998 by Ms. McClelland while conducting a group session at a local narcotic addiction treatment program. As a clinician with a passion for health and a strong foundation in pharmacology, it was evident to her that the everyday fatigue, lethargy and poor attitudes seen in their patients was without a doubt a direct relation to poor diets, smoking, and vitamin/nutrient deficiencies. Says Ms. McClelland, “…they weren’t only addicted to heroin or alcohol, they were ingesting sugar, caffeine, nicotine and chemicals in their processed foods at alarming rates, and when you couple with that a complete lack of nutrients as well as the symptoms of depression commonly seen in newly recovering addicts resulting from damage caused to the pleasure center in their brains, someone had to offer them something more…so now that’s what I do,” That was the defining moment in the declaration of her new life’s purpose, and would consequently change the lives of hundreds of her future patients. The Arche Wellness program has repeatedly earned an international reputation for excellence and has been examined and acknowledged by national publications such as Industrial Engineer Magazine as well as national addiction experts such as Dr. Kevin Skinner. Their services are geared to those suffering from substance abuse, alcoholism, eating disorders, weight issues, co-occurring disorders and other related mental health issues. Arche Wellness is an Intensive Outpatient Program that only treats a maximum of up to 8 clients at a time and adamantly tailors each client’s treatment plan based on a variety of clinical components, as well as the medical and addiction history presented by the client. In lieu of such national attention, they have treated clients flying in from all 50 states and actually maintain contracts with local corporate housing services in order to accommodate the needs of those living far away. From commonplace substances such as; alcohol, heroin, cocaine, crack & methamphetamine (speed, crystal, crank); to less common substances and related mental illnesses and eating disorders such as; overeating, bulimia, anorexia, obesity, etc., they have seen it all have and successfully treated all of the above. As of recent, Arche Wellness has chosen to become a part of Sober Nexus, a prominent national online database of reputable treatment facilities and sober living homes, and you are invited to learn much more about the program, view a virtual tour of the facility, download brochures, view photos, read more of Erin’s published articles, and view their company website at: http://www.sobernexus.com/
