48,000 people currently in residential care were forced to sell their homes to pay for the cost, figures uncovered by the Liberal Democrats have revealed.
This is taken from a recent article and was a quote by the Liberal Democrats based on some important information and one that particularly those approaching retirement age or dependents are very aware of the position they could find themselves in, in years to come. http://www.echappellequityrelease.co.uk/
Ed Chappell of Financial Advisors Edward Chappell in Bournemouth commented that “There is a very real fear of having to sell the family home to pay for care and in most cases this is a panic reaction. People who might find themselves in this position really need to speak to an IFA as soon as possible as there are other ways of raising capital through equity release schemes for example that allow you to release cash and still live in your home, possibly avoiding going into care”.
He continued “Obviously every case is different and there is a lot of choice with equity release so I cannot stress enough the need to get proper qualified advice from an Independent Financial Advisor who can help you make a considered decision, not a rash one”. http://www.echappellequityrelease.co.uk/
