Chicago Designer Blazes Trail in Hollywood, Expands Accessories Line

Chicago fashion designer, Mireya Villarreal, lead designer and founder of Pink Pewter, recently returned from a whirlwind trip to Beverly Hills, California to participate in the Golden Globes Gift Lounge. While there, Mireya was able to present her designs to hundreds in the entertainment industry, from those behind the scenes, to stars of hit television shows and movies.

“The reaction to my products was amazing, they were called ‘fun, different and exciting’, ” recalled Villarreal. “Everyone I met commented on the quality and fabulousness of the styles, yet how reasonable they were price wise. They couldn’t believe that I was selling my hair accessories for ‘such a steal’.”

Pink Pewter hair accessories were photographed being worn by Zoe Saldana of “Avatar,” Emmanuelle Chriqui of “Entourage,” Amber Riley and Jennifer Aspen from “Glee,” and many others.  Mireya was giving Pink Pewter’s most popular styles like “Eva” and  “Bonnie” to the celebrity guests, as well as new styles and products to be launched this spring.

New styles introduced at the Golden Globes event were, “Amy,” which was most popular with the celebrity guests. And, breakout style  “Kathleen,” a versatile broach style clip that can be attached to the hair and clothing, was debuted.  “Kathleen’s” debut is the first of its kind for Pink Pewter as they expand their accessory line.
