New Designers are taking 2010 fashion and urban style to uncharted places.
Masculinity used to be the hallmark of Hip Hop Urban style but new designers like Ronneisha Smith and Tiffany Martinez are taking urban style into previously uncharted waters. Ronneisha Smith formerly the senior designer for Antonio Ansaldi. Ansaldi received nationwide attention for his black leather inspired clothing worn by Samuel L. Jackson and 50 cent.
Ronneisha as his head designer was responsible for much of Ansaldi’s success, so much so that she started her own firm Duffle Bag Dollz to highlight fashion from a different perspective one that is definitely Hip Hop yet retaining a strong feminine appeal. Ms Smith utilized parties and viral marketing approaches to display her clothing, a very popular item she is presenting is her new line of Jeans which come in their own pink or baby blue mini canvas Duffle Bag retail $400.00 which is worn by her team of professional models who host special events and fashion shows for Hollywood and major sports celebrities. As a Boston based firm the Celtics players are some of her most valued clients. “They (the celebrities) respect that we maintain a high standard of quality and behavior our models are not “starstruck” we throw great parties because they are smart empowered women and know good style!”
Tiffany K. Martinez is another name fast becoming well known amongst the jet set her line of one of a kind hip hop hoodies with vibrant colors and sequined appliqués most with spiritual and cultural motifs has been worn by members of Hip Hops elite including new recording artist LaTonya Blige.
