Naxcer Composites Group announces a competing bid for a military armor project.

Naxcer Composites Group, specializing in new manufacturing technologies for composite materials is announcing the Company is competing for a next generation armor contract for the Military.

Using proven materials and novel manufacturing techniques Naxcer Composites Group seeks to deliver a next generation armor solution for a new military vehicle.  This system is projected to use a unique combination of materials with documented ballistic and environmental performance to meet the proposed design requirements.  These materials combined with proven novel advanced composite manufacturing techniques are expected to exceed military requirements for this application.

“The military requirements for balanced Performance, Payload and Protection have been a principal objective for Military Vehicles since the beginning of 2000,” according to Peter Madsen, COO of Naxcer Composites Group.  “As a result composite armor technologies, manufacturing process improvements and material developments are evolving at an ever increasing rate.  These design and improvement challenges are again hampered by constantly evolving battle space threat profiles,” Mr. Madsen continued.
 
“The performance requirements of this armor system were challenging,” according to Andrew Chumney CEO of Naxcer Composites Group.  “The Navy required an extremely lightweight armor for vehicle performance, in harsh conditions with a high threat profile,” Mr. Chumney continued.

According to company officials Naxcer Composites Group has invested significant financial resources into the development of a new armor system for use in the military and commercial market space.  The company expects to realize some return on that investment with the successful award of this contract.  At the same time Naxcer hopes to help return some of the recent job losses in the composite industry to Colorado state economy.

“Vehicle reset programs and vehicle platform development programs are challenged to keep pace with the constant changes in the manufacturing techniques and deployment environments,” said Andrew Chumney.  “Naxcer has developed a very lightweight and high performing armor solution we believe will remain on the cutting edge of technology for some time.”
