Write Brothers® Donates $725K in Software to the USC School of Cinematic Arts

Write Brothers, Inc. initiated a five-year software donation to the University of Southern California’s School of Cinematic Arts. Valued at $725,850, it includes Movie Magic® Screenwriter, Dramatica® Pro, Outline 4D™, and Word Menu®.
 
Jan. 26, 2010 - PRLog -- BURBANK, California,  – Write Brothers, Inc. initiated a five-year software donation to the University of Southern California’s School of Cinematic Arts with the fall 2009 semester. The software is for the faculty and students of the Filmic Writing, Production, and Animation programs. Valued at $725,850, the donation includes software bundles of the company’s best-selling screenwriting software Movie Magic® Screenwriter, story development software Dramatica® Pro, project outlining software Outline 4D™, and word reference software Word Menu®.

Write Brothers Inc.’s founders are graduates of USC’s film school. President Stephen Greenfield (’81) and vice president Chris Huntley (’80) have a long history of donating software to their alma mater beginning in the 1980s with their first product, the Academy Award winning script formatting software, Scriptor.  For nearly twenty-eight years, they have continued to donate their software products, including Movie Magic® Budgeting and Scheduling, Movie Magic® Screenwriter, StoryView™, Word Menu® and Dramatica®.

“Our USC education focused our creativity, helping us build the standard for entertainment industry software.  It’s a real privilege to provide the next generation of filmmakers with leading-edge tools to achieve their dreams,” says Greenfield.

The company’s latest software donations to the USC School of Cinematic Arts totaled over $725,000, and this commitment provides for a combined total of more than $1.5 million since 2003.
