With this appointment, SGS Turkey is now in a position to assist machinery manufacturers and importers in demonstrating full compliance with the requirements of the new Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC. SGS Turkey provides the necessary steps for machinery certification and offers a full range of Notified Body Services including Design Verification of industrial machinery, Type-Approval, Inspections, Audits and Testing as well as the set-up and verification of technical files.
Since January 1995, manufacturers and importers in the European Union have been required to ensure that their products meet wide-ranging health and safety requirements. The compliance with these directives is generally obtained through the use of independent, third party testing organizations, known as Notified Bodies (http://www.sgs.com/
In December 2009, the new Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC came into force and replaced the Machinery Directive 98/37/EC with a number of new standards as construction-
