FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PRLog (Press Release) - Jan 26, 2010 -
ChartCo, market leading provider of maritime data to ships at sea has recently signed up additional subscribers from Iino Marine Service Company Ltd, helping the number of vessels now taking services from ChartCo to break the 4000 barrier.

Steve Mariner, ChartCo Manager said. “We are very pleased that such a well respected company as Iino Marine has consistently chosen to fit the ChartCo system on board their vessels. They have been a customer of ChartCo for many years and are typical of the type of high quality ship operator that chooses to fit ChartCo to ensure that their vessels carry up to date maritime data. We are also immensely proud that these latest orders mean that ChartCo now provides data to over 4000 individual vessels. This also reflects the success of our operation in Japan, led by our partner, Cornes & Company Ltd”.

Mr. Toshio Araki, General manager IT Promotion of Iino Marine Services said “With such a diverse range of vessels it is essential that we have suppliers that can react quickly to our requirements and are capable of satisfying our wide range of data services. ChartCo has consistently led the market in the area of delivering data to ships at sea and continues to develop new innovative solutions as the maritime industry evolves. Ensuring our vessels are up to date with chart corrections leads to greater safety whilst an added value of the ChartCo service is its cost effectiveness and comprehensive user software, enabling savings to be made in terms of both money and labour”.

Through their agreement with ChartCo, the services provided to Iino Marine include ChartManager™, which provides automatic reception of the weekly Notice to Mariners and chart corrections issued by the UK Hydrographic Office.

Notes to Editors

ChartCo Ltd

ChartCo was formed in 1998 and is widely regarded as the market leading provider of electronic data directly to ships at sea.

The ChartCo Broadcast service, which uses the Inmarsat point to multi-point service, has been operational since January 1999. Since this time the company has grown rapidly and has more recently introduced ChartCo Select, which offers service delivery through broadband or dial-up internet access as well as email.

ChartCo Broadcast and ChartCo Select deliver the following Services:

· ChartManager™, a package of digital Notices to Mariners and chart correction tracings, automatically delivered directly to the ChartCo decoder on board ship. This service covers a wide range of paper charts from various HO’s including BA and Japan amongst others.

· oceanXpress™, a range of services for delivery of updates to electronic chart and navigation data to support the ever-increasing use of electronic navigation data in place of conventional paper charts and publications. An important part of this service is updates to both Primar and AVCS electronic cells.

· MetManager™, a weather forecasting and routeing service based on data from US Government sources.

· News Services, daily electronic newspapers, regional supplements and sport events special editions.

· RegsManager™ provides electronic management of documents to meet the relevant requirements of the Flag State and the MARPOL, SOLAS and STCW Conventions. Products have digital Flag State equivalence to avoid the need to carry paper copies.

· AVManager™ the supply of anti-virus licences and daily updates.

The ChartManager™ and oceanXpress™ chart update services help vessels to comply with international standards by providing a chart correction audit trail and the safety and operational benefits of shore based ship management. Automatic reception and data assessment are a feature of all the services allowing the system to operate on a ‘fit and forget’ basis. Comprehensive software allows the vessel to manage vessel folios and view historical data.

ChartCo offers global distribution through a world-wide network of sales agents and is able to fit its equipment and install software in key international ports using authorised service agents. Fixed weekly subscription charges can include rental of the decoder, satellite communications costs and information supply – making it one of the simplest marine information services in the world.

ChartCo has built a reputation for world-leading products and service and has succeeded in developing an enviable and growing client list. ChartCo is based in London.

Iino Marine Services Ltd

As a pioneer in the Japanese shipping industry, and with a view to ensuring proper safety management for vessels entrusted to them, Iino began architecting their own safety management system in 1994, four years before the International Safety Management Code (ISM Code) came into effect.

At present Iino is managing some 60 vessels of diverse types including chemical tankers, oil tankers, LNG tankers, LPG tankers, product tankers, bulk carriers and bulk woodchip carriers. The number of ships under Iino’s management is increasing alongside the expansion of Iino Kaiun’s business.

Iino continue to make efforts to advance environmental conservation, and improved quality management.
