Jan. 25, 2010 - PRLog -- Comedienne/Impressionist Melissa Villasenor makes her musical theatre debut in I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change.  Villasenor began doing impressions at 13, first mastering her Britney Spears impression. At 15 she began doing stand-up comedy at the Laugh Factory Comedy Camp. Within a span of only a few years she has learned over 20 impressions and currently is a regular in the Belly Room at the Comedy Store. She has also taken classes at the Groundlings, Second City, and the Howard Fine Acting Studio and recently auditioned and was called back for Saturday Night Live.  She is a sought after talent on the rise and also recently appeared at San Pedro BrewHaHa at Warner Grand Theatre.  Now she will return to Warner Grand Theatre to appear in I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change in which she will portray multiple characters.

The desire for love is a fundamental urge, but perhaps as basic is the drive to remake the object of your affection. That’s the funny and poignant premise of Joe DiPietro and Jimmy Roberts’ off-Broadway musical I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change.

The Relevant Stage staged it successfully in 2009; it’s back for a second run in the Warner Grand Theatre through the last three weekends in February.  It’s a perfect date-night show or group outing, but also one for mature audiences.

The cast consists of Daina Bowler, Ray Buffer, Paul Rorie, Kenneth Taylor, Kristin Towers-Rowles and the previously mentioned Melissa Villasenor.   Jeanette-Louise Yaryan provides the piano accompaniment and music direction and Adrian Wong, collaborates with her on the viola. Cast members play many roles involving countless costume and wig changes.

Each scene opens a window into a relationship. The lighter first act focuses on the ups and downs dating, culminating in a wedding; the second act covers marriage from laughs to tears, from newlyweds to senior citizens. With Richard Taylor’s spirited direction there’s never a dull moment.

Audiences who attend on, Sunday – February 14, Valentine’s Day may schmooze with the cast and crew and attend a free post performance Champagne reception following the 2:30 PM Matinee or a free pre-performance Champagne reception prior to the 7PM showing at Parkhurst Gallery a few steps from the theatre.

Complete Dinner Theatre and Wine Lover Packages which combine a dinner or wine tasting with a show ticket are available for Off The Vine, Whale & Ale, 7th St. Chophouse, 6th St. Bistro and Ports O’ Call.

This show ran for 5,003 performances in New York before it closed last July. You’ll see why at the Warner Grand Theatre.
