The producers of "Inside Business Review" are pleased to announce a special series, Green Collar Jobs, as part of its 2010 Editorial Calendar. The show marries an unrivaled host, Fred Thompson, with a team of award-winning producers, and provides viewers new information that impacts their lives.
Millions of American workers are trading in their white or blue collars for collars of a decidedly different hue. With concerns about the environment at an all-time high, green collar jobs are on the rise. According to a recent report commissioned by the American Solar Energy Society, the current tally of 8.5 million U.S. jobs in renewable-energy and energy-efficiency industries could reach 40 million by 2030.
Fueling the expansion of the green collar job market, the current administration promises to spend $150 billion over 10 years to create 5 million new green-collar jobs -- jobs ranging from the installation of solar panels and weatherizing homes, to generating biofuels, building hybrid cars and erecting wind turbines. Through its new Green Collar Jobs series, Inside Business Review will explore the latest trends and developments taking place in this emerging sector of the job market.
