Two heavyweights in the provision of media relations and marketing communications software have joined forces under the banner of AIMediaComms, part of the AIM-listed Access Intelligence PLC.
Ether-ray NewsFlash has long been the outstanding player in the provision of media relations software and services to local government. Spotlight, to date a competitive product from information management company Solcara, has carved its niche in the police, central government and commercial sectors. Together they will have over 300 live clients, making it the biggest player in Europe.
AIMediaComms is the brainchild of Michael Jackson, the Chairman of Access Intelligence PLC. Jackson is former chairman of PartyGaming plc, Computer Software Group, and until August 2006 was chairman of FTSE100 company, The Sage Group plc where he was a board director for 23 years and saw the company rise from a market cap of less than £5m to its current valuation of over £3bn.
AIMediaComms is headed up by Charlie O’Rourke, former Sales and Marketing Director at Solcara, “Bringing together Solcara Spotlight and Ether-ray NewsFlash will enable AIMediaComms to benefit from economies of scale that we can pass onto our client base in the form of competitive long-term contracts”, said Charlie O’Rourke, Managing Director, AIMediaComms. “We can offer significant ROI at a time when budgets are constrained, and media and marketing teams are required to deliver more media coverage and public awareness with fewer resources.”
“From enquiry management to the issue of press releases; from journalist relationship management to media bids, AIMediaComms enables users to manage media relations, proactive PR projects and campaigns, and to react to reputational issues as they arise” stated O’Rourke. “Together, Solcara Spotlight and Ether-ray NewsFlash, will deliver the most comprehensive media and communications platform at a subscription rate that cannot be matched. “
