Brynwood Golf & Country Club Debuts in Armonk, NY

Jan. 25, 2010 - PRLog -- ARMONK, NY -- An integral part of the Armonk community for more than three decades, the Canyon Club has been renamed Brynwood Golf & Country Club. The new name heralds a new era for the 156-acre private country club.

Last month, the Club’s ownership hired Troon Golf to manage the Club. Headquartered in Scottsdale, Arizona, Troon Golf is the world’s preeminent golf management company, managing more than 200 golf courses in 31 states and 26 countries. Troon Golf’s management portfolio includes such renowned properties as the Westin Turnberry Resort (site of the 2009 Open Championship) in Ayrshire, Scotland, Troon North Golf Club in Scottsdale, Arizona, and the Ocean Club on Paradise Island, Bahamas.  In addition, 38 of its golf courses appear on various golf industry “Top 100” lists.  

New ownership and Troon already have begun implementing a phased improvement plan, which will include:

• Interior renovation of the 65,000-square-foot Clubhouse, as designed by the award-winning architectural and planning firm of Hart Howerton. Hart Howerton has designed clubhouses for some of the region’s most prestigious country clubs, including Westhampton Country Club, Atlantic Golf Course, Tuxedo Golf Club and Sebonack Golf Club.  

• Upgrading of tennis and pool facilities, including the addition of new casual poolside dining and an outdoor grill.

• Elevation of the Club’s golf experience with a new fleet of Club Car golf carts and a commitment to golf instruction and player development.    

• Addition of new fitness area and equipment and other recreational amenities.

• A full calendar of golf, tennis, recreational, social, fitness and family activities.
   
To accommodate this improvement plan, the Club will be closed this winter and will reopen in April.  

Annual dues for Brynwood Golf & Country Club are: $11,000 (Family Full Membership); $8,800 (Single Full Membership); $7,700 (Senior Executive Membership); $6,600 (Young Executive Membership); $4,400 (Sports Family Membership) and $3,300 (Sports Single Membership). Brynwood Golf & Country Club is offering special bonuses for applicants who join now.

Members of Brynwood Golf & Country Club also become members of the Troon Advantage program, which features exclusive access and reduced fees at participating private clubs where access is typically unavailable to unaccompanied guests.  The program also provides access to both Troon Golf daily fee and resort facilities at discounted rates.

Located just minutes off I-684 on Route 22, Brynwood Golf & Country Club features a lushly landscaped 18-hole golf course; a fully-amenitized 65,000 square-foot clubhouse; Har-Tru tennis courts and a full-sized swimming pool. The clubhouse provides catering services for private and corporate functions, wedding receptions and bar/bat mitzvahs with ballroom seating for more than 350 guests. There is also an outdoor cocktail terrace overlooking the golf course and surrounding hills featuring spectacular sunsets.
