Camping World is sending a team to Slide, the Ski and Snow Sports industry's biggest annual retailer exhibition. The Slide Exhibition, from 27th to 29th January 2010 is held at Manchester Central (previously called G-Mex) and showcases all the best brands, products and ski wear apparel available for next year. It is a chance for retailers to inspect and meet with existing and potential new brands, and to see some of next year's stock.
CampingWorld.co.uk - an expert and established UK Camping retailer - entered the ski industry with a bang this year with good trading figures across all chosen winter lines. Traditionally known for expert retailing of quality tents, camping equipment and associated leisure goods, a crack team at Camping World has had a steep learning curve this 2009-2010 ski season and aims to continue this growth into 2011 by picking the best possible ranges for next season.
Early talks with brands and a huge capital injection meant that Camping World could stock and sell a huge range of winter lines. Nathan Hyde, website manager for CampingWorld.co.uk, said "We decided early on that as newcomers to the industry, we should focus on emerging quality brands as well as an established budget partner. This year we have been selling the whole range of White Rock Luxury Ski Wear and produced some very good sales figures, as well as selling the whole range of Surfanic Snow Board Gear for snow boarders. We combined these new brands with a massive range of budget Trespass ski wear, recognising that with the recession this year customers might be looking for extra value for money and so far we have seen a very good return."
So far Camping World has reported a hugely successful winter season, with customers still keen to buy top quality ski wear. With the Surfanic and White Rock jackets being produced to the same specifications as some of the more established brands, the fact that they are relative 'new on the scene' brands has not diminished sales at all - in fact, both companies control their manufacture and import strategies and this will enable them to keep their price point down against stiff competition, whilst retaining quality. White Rock's impressive range of sizes has also seen favourable sales, with customers able to purchase designer and top quality ski wear even at men's sizes XS through to 7XL, and women's sizes 8 through to 30.
Trespass Ski Wear has been a key performer too, with hundreds of both adults and children's line allowing freedom of choice and always the best value for money. With money being a real issue affecting ski holidays and winter breaks this year, the Trespass range has given Camping World a real edge over competitors just retailing high ticket items.
Camping World is going to the Slide Exhibition in Manchester to look at all the exhibitors for next year's season and compare and contract all the new product design features. A specialist team is also going to look at taking on hardware lines, including skis and snowboards. Business Development Manager Michael Cloake says: "As we have done this year across both our Ski Store and our traditional Camping sector we are looking at expanding and developing our winter range to include hardware as well as clothing ranges. Boots, boards and skis are likely to feature on the site next year, as well as another top flight clothing brand".
Our specialist tent team will be going to view and inspect all the manufacturers' clothing ranges and accessories, including all new models and designs for 2010. They have the chance to comment on any changes the manufacturers have made to existing designs and discuss new additions to the product lines. The main aim of the Camping World Snow Sports team is to be able order the best products at best possible prices in order to give our customers the most up to date products available today, at the most competitive prices.
Customer feedback is very important to us and we would like to be able to pass on your views to the manufacturers. If you would like us to ask them a question, or talk to them about any good (or bad) design features, please contact us either by email: sales@campingworld.co.uk or call us on: 01252 316 649
Please note that we may not be able to ask every question, but we will try our best and let you know their answers right here in a few weeks time!
