ANIMAL RADIO NETWORK LLC, creator of the nationally syndicated ANIMAL RADIO program, has hired a law firm to sue PANDORA MEDIA, INC. for trademark infringement. The online-based music delivery service has been using the ANIMAL RADIO trademark to describe one of its users channels since late 2009.
ANIMAL RADIO contends that a cease & desist order, sent to PANDORA MEDIA Pres. JOE KENNEDY, has gone unanswered and multiple attempts to resolve the conflict have been ignored. "It’s a shame that this growing company with so much potential is utilizing our service-mark to generate revenue," ANIMAL RADIO VP/Programming HAL ABRAMS said. "It’s important that those engaging in future business with PANDORA, like FORD MOTORS, realize the characters they're getting into bed with. They're no GOOGLE!"
PANDORA has been contacted for comment; a spokesperson has yet to respond.
