The season finale of MTV's sex-and-booze fueled hit "Jersey Shore" may have aired, but online retailers are reporting stronger than ever sales of show merchandise.
Once only reserved for the boardwalks of Seaside Heights and Atlantic City, Jersey Shore t-shirts are springing up all over the internet from eBay to BustedTees.com. MTV has their official store on Zazzle.com with popular tees such as "I Love The Situation" and "Team Pauly D."
Sales have been so brisk that one of the shows more colorful characters, Michael "The Situation" Sorrentino has filed to trademark his infamous nickname for his abdominal muscles. "I'm in the process of it right now. I don't know if it's possible, but I'm trying," he said.
Even smaller online outfitters like DiehardThreads.com (http://diehardthreads.com/
It remains to be seen if the Jersey Shore craze has staying power but club appearance fees by cast members ranging from $2000-$8000 per night suggest these "Guidos" will be cashing in long after the music has stopped.
