FaiSTRADA updates their flagship training course about Adobe After Effects, adding a completely new lesson about 3D stereoscopic compositing techniques for digital cinematography and visual effects. The After Effects training is an advanced three months training course that focuses on professional best practices for digital compositing and visual effects.
Stereoscopic cinema is here to stay, and despite the fact a standardized workflow for stereo 3D compositing has yet to be developed, there are already several best practices in the compositing and motion tracking areas that have proven to be solid and reliable. After several months testing the stereoscopic 3D extension in the live, face to face, trainings the official syllabus has been integrated and updated to introduce a well tested and specific workflow for stereo 3D compositing. The training also offers a solution to the common problem of non-genlocked stereoscopic shots, by providing a time remapping method that minimizes the drift between left and right camera shots.
The new training builds upon 20 years of expertise in compositing post production and is mainly aimed towards artists with a firm desire to gain deeper knowledge in the often mysterious areas of linear workflow, gamma correction, high quality chroma keying, camera matching and face replacement. The training covers After Effects CS4, Mocha for After Effects, and devotes additional lessons to the full stand-alone version of Mocha, Syntheyes camera tracker, and Google Sketchup providing an exclusive plugin to export Sketchup's camera matches to After Effects.
