Jan. 22, 2010 - PRLog -- Everblue Training Institute recently conducted two LEED accreditation training sessions with members of the U.S. State Department. The sustainability education provider offered a LEED Green Associate and LEED AP Building Design and Construction exam preparation course for the Bureau of Overseas Building Operations, which is responsible for US embassies and consulates around the world.

Developed by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) is the country's most recognized seal of approval for environmental design and green building certification. Everblue Training Institute is the largest USGBC Portfolio Provider.

“The instructor was knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the topic, which helped the class absorb the vast amount of information,” said Erin Ebmeier, an interior designer with the State Department. “The class was ideal to prepare and study for the exam, and I would recommend the class to anyone considering LEED credentials.”

The LEED Green Associate course is for professionals who want to demonstrate green building expertise in non-technical fields of practice. This credential denotes basic knowledge of green design, construction and operations. Everblue’s course is currently offered in more than 80 cities in the U.S. and internationally, including New York, Los Angeles, Dubai and Hong Kong.

After attaining the LEED Green Associate credential, one may further his or her LEED education by pursuing the LEED AP with Specialty credential. This credential is for professionals seeking to demonstrate an advanced depth of knowledge in green building practices.

Following the LEED exam preparation course, Everblue provides its students with 400 practice exam questions and seven memorization worksheets. Everblue students report a historic 90 percent first-time pass-rate on the LEED exam.

“The LEED training session with Everblue was formatted to provide us with the most critical information in a condensed version,” Division Chief Jerri Rush said. “The handouts were a helpful guide, and the trainer was well informed, professional and entertaining (considering the dry subject matter). He kept the class moving and was patient in answering all questions. The three-day session was well worth the time and money.”
