SOUL CLAP is an exhibit of works by artists of the Black American tradition, in honor of Black History Month. Along with the works of such contemporary masters as Carl Lopes, J. Vincent Diggs, Shea Justice, Hartman Deetz and Robert Peters, the exhibit will feature experimental digital film installations and the CD “Sketches of a Neighborhood”
Mwalim's latest CD, "The Liberation Sessions" has been receiving critical acclaim from both US and UK msic reviewers. This project features a host of guest artists, spanning the musical genres of soul, funk, jazz, hip-hop, Caribbean and spoken-word. The CD has received 12 nominations in the New England Music Awards including Best Producer, Best R&B Album, and for sizzler DEM BIG GIRLS, Best R&B Single, Best Caribbean Male Vocalist and Best Caribbean Single.
Founded in 1993 by James Wolf, and incorporated as a non-profit charitable organization in 1995, Cotuit Center for the Arts (CCftA) has an excellent history of producing and presenting innovative, quality works that encourage individual artistic development and exploration.
