With the help of a $5,000 grant from The Chicago Community Trust, CarePoint today launched a new website (www.carepointoutreach.org) to build awareness of the nonprofit agency’s social service programs.

CarePoint serves disadvantaged populations in the Chicago area affected by HIV/AIDS, viral hepatitis and STDS, substance abuse, incarceration, homelessness and youth at risk.

“We’re very grateful to The Chicago Community Trust,” said Stephen M. Radler, CADC, CarePoint’s executive director. “The new website extends our outreach to people in need, and it will help strengthen our relationships with supporters, allied professionals and the communities we serve.”

To build the site, CarePoint contracted Chicago-based Blueprint Design Studio (www.blueprintds.com). Eric Barker, president, reduced his usual fees in support of CarePoint’s mission. Andrew Wetherell, project manager, and Michael McAllister, marketing consultant, led his team.

Built on a WordPress publishing platform, the site economically yet effectively achieves marketing objectives. The agency can update and expand the site in house with minimal staff training. The site interacts with social media such as FaceBook and Twitter, energizing communication efforts. Also, visitors can post comments and make donations on line.

“We’re proud to be a part of this project,” Barker said. “CarePoint provides life-saving services to neglected communities, and we believe this new website can play an important role.”

The Trust’s corporate affiliate, The Chicago Community Foundation, made the management and organizational development grant of $5,000 to CarePoint to support website development and staff training.

ShortFuse Mktg + Mgmt president George Curran, CarePoint’s marketing consultant, directed the project and serves as the website’s editor.
